After analyzing and exploring the four main areas of study of this thesis, I found some overlapping while doing the Venn diagram. This relations of the research scope provided me a broader understanding of the topic. After doing the visualization, I found interesting exploring these relationships. The four relations I found are:
- Responsibility to Investigate
- Consciousness of Time x Impact
- Acknowledge Success
- Structures Analysis
This diagram shows three subjects per relation; they are expressed in the diagram with letters, starting with “a” and ending with “g” these subjects are research areas and findings. All of them referred to a piece of the thesis deliverable.
The numbers, from one to four are the frameworks and models I explored to better understand the design process and some other methods organizations use in daily basis to follow and develop a project. These models are:
- Iceberg Model
- Design Thinking (Tim Brown’s Model)
- Collective Impact
- Theory U
After analyzing these models, I realized all of them are human-centered focused, and they involved the community at some point in the process to better understand needs, desires, and dreams. Some of the models are more complex than others, but all of them look for solving complex problems through having a holistic understanding of the context and people. There are models, frameworks, and processes that they are already targeting great outcomes, but few of them who promote behavioral change. Promoting long-lasting and self-sustain projects promote positive impact.
Even Though the models are different from one to another, they promote change. Sometimes this change targets a situation, behavior or an action. As I mentioned in my blog, I wanted to create a new and improved framework, but after developing this analysis, I realized they are really good framework and models already that work.
What would be my thesis solution then? What do you think?
